aquas litus, or "Coastal Waters", are a combination of Hecht's original coastline photography and extensive use of colorful encaustic (beeswax) paints.  This series is based on photographs taken off the coast of Baja and California, especially in Los Cabos, La Jolla Cove, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. The images are then enriched by the application of colored encaustic beeswax.  Commissions available by request.
